About Ugandan Vanilla

Vanilla farmers in Uganda work with some of the most fertile soil on Earth. Vanilla farming has flourished thanks to this rich ecosystem. The result? Vanilla characterized by a big, bold taste that fills the room.

Ideal Growing Conditions in Uganda

Uganda’s mild temperatures see little variability on the equator. Vanilla grows well in the warm, humid weather, ranging from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F) throughout the year. Uganda is the only place in the world that can support two annual harvests, so you enjoy a regular supply alongside simplified sourcing.

Familiar Flavor Notes with Surprising Nuance

Vanilla farmers in Uganda grow Vanilla planifolia, the same cultivar as Madagascar.

The overlapping flavors make Ugandan vanilla an appropriate alternative to Madagascar. But beyond that classic vanilla taste, Ugandan vanilla is known for warm cacao notes with a hint of fruit. The layered flavors make Ugandan vanilla ideal for applications ranging from sweet goods to luxurious perfumes.
